Our Work

Public Health Course
Designing & Piloting a Public Health Curriculum for 6th Grade Students

Health4US is currently working to design a public health curriculum for 6th grade students in Northern Virginia. The course aims to supplement the Virginia Department of Education Health Standards (last updated five years ago) by adding valuable and engaging instruction in a post-COVID world. We include a teaching guide and suggested lesson calendar so teachers with little to no public health training can easily incorporate these lessons into their classrooms. After the pilot year, we hope to advocate for more comprehensive public health curriculum and are looking to expand the program to other schools. A Child's Introduction to Book Series
Exposing elementary and middle school students to concepts in health & medicine

Through the “A Child's Introduction to” book series, we hope to expose elementary/middle school students to the health & medical field. Nearly all introductory material is designed for college level classes. Our books cover a vast array of topics and present this information in an engaging and informative manner. Early education is crucial in order to improve health literacy as well as to cultivate awareness and interest in the field. Health4US takes care of the publishing process, printing, and donates books to libraries, schools, and museums.

Free Clinic Database

We've created an online network that links community health centers and free clinics across Virginia to help uninsured * underinsured individuals find proper care. This is offers a database of services offered, hours or dates of operation, and cultural-linguistic sensitivity at each clinic. We are currently working to expand the our database to other states and cities. Check out this article written by Reyhan here
